About

Andrea Renee Brinkley is a resident of Lafourche Parish (Thibodaux). She has committed not only her professional career to serving her community but also in her personal life she is dedicated to serving others. She currently serves as Vice-President of the Lafourche Parish Commission for Women.

Her past and current careers span multi levels of top administration and leadership roles. She has been employed by a nationally recognized and accredited agency for 22 years. Her assignments have covered multiple fields to include areas of the Criminal and Corrections Departments. As a member of the Executive Staff, she currently serves as the Major/ Head of the Civil Department.

Major Brinkley is committed to education and skills development for success and fulfillment of life goals. She obtained a Bachelor’s Degree from Nicholls State University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of New Orleans.  

She is a proud graduate of Leadership Lafourche and Leadership Louisiana.

Using her passion and heart for helping others, she serves on the ministry team at her church. She dedicates time in leadership to small groups with a focus on processing the past and transitioning into a life of purpose.

Some of her past and current civic contributions have been to the Bayou Area Habitat for Humanity, Lafourche ARC, The American Cancer Society, Lafourche Parish Women’s Commission on Government and Leadership Council. Through her membership role and activities, she assists with the Louisiana Girls Leadership Academy which is held annually.
