About

Dr. Rebekah Gee is an Obstetrician/Gynecologist and the visionary CEO/Founder of Nest Health. Nest Health is a groundbreaking whole-family healthcare service that delivers primary care to families right in the comfort of their own homes. With a strong commitment to providing comprehensive and personalized healthcare, Nest Health takes a unique approach by combining home visiting and virtual care to address the comprehensive health care needs of the whole family.

Prior to founding Nest Health, Dr. Gee served as Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health where she oversaw the implementation of Medicaid expansion, which has extended health insurance coverage to over 600,000 Louisianans. Her efforts while Secretary focused on maternal morbidity and mortality, leading to a significant reduction in complications due to heavy bleeding—the leading preventable cause of maternal death in Louisiana. Gee has an extensive background in quality improvement and health services research and has served in numerous state and national policy roles, including Medical Director for Louisiana Medicaid, Medical Director for Title V, and director of Louisiana’s Birth Outcomes Initiative where she led the charge to decrease infant mortality and prematurity.

In 2017, Gee's exceptional contributions led to her election to the esteemed National Academy of Medicine. Recognized by the New York Times as one of Five Who Spread Hope in 2019 and hailed by Modern Healthcare as one of the Women Leaders to Watch in Healthcare, her impact continues to inspire. Recently, Nest Health garnered significant attention, being featured on CBS 60 Minutes and in Business Insider as one of the emerging healthcare companies to keep an eye on. Dr. Gee, a resident of New Orleans, is happily married to David Patron, who leads the commercial litigation section at Phelps Dunbar law firm. As a proud parent of five energetic children, including two sets of twins, Dr. Gee finds joy in both her personal and professional life focused on improving healthcare for families, mothers, and their children.
