WHO: Panelists: University of Louisiana System President Dr. James Henderson, Louisiana Commissioner of Higher
Education Dr. Kim Hunter Reed, Louisiana Community & Technical College System President Monty Sullivan, Ed.D.,
Louisiana State University Board President Mary Leach Werner and Education Policy Specialist Martha Snyder.
WHAT: Virtual panel discussing the state of higher education policy in Louisiana.
WHEN: Friday, Aug. 28, 2020
10:00 a.m.
WHERE: Zoom
WHY: A recent survey from the American Council on Education showed that 86 percent of college presidents put fall or

higher education continues to shift, Ellevate webinar panelists will discuss challenges colleges and universities face
amid the COVID-19 pandemic and how they are enhancing the game of online instruction. They will also discuss the
in-state struggle over resources from competing interests and how it impacts higher education, as well as the role of
community colleges and dual enrollment opportunities for students across Louisiana.
HOW: Media are invited to attend the webinar. If you’re interested in an interview with an Ellevate Louisiana or any of the
panelists, please contact Branda Johnson at branda@gambelpr.com or 617.435.7014.
