About

Shelly Dupré has over 25 years of public relations and public affairs experience. She’s worked with Fortune 100 companies, associations and small businesses to help those organizations analyze and critically evaluate ideas, arguments and points of views into effective messages and content to meet specific business objectives, such as effectively position and expand a company’s online presence, raise brand awareness, educate target audiences, create advocacy programs, provide media training, and manage reputation and crisis communications. 

 

She also worked at APCO Worldwide in Washington, D.C., where she organized and managed statewide grassroots coalition groups and developed messaging and media tools to successfully communicate the groups’ mission. As a past entrepreneur, Shelly started her own communications firm and has worked on the regional media relations/crisis communications initiative to combat misperceptions of Gulf-caught seafood and tourism post-BP spill. 

 

Outside of IMG-Louisiana, Shelly dedicates her time to a variety of professional organizations such as, Baton Rouge Rotary and GSU Toastmasters Club. In 2010, she chaired the Southern Public Relations Federation regional conference and served on the boards of the Press Club of Baton Rouge and Public Relations Association of Louisiana where she received the PRAL-Baton Rouge chapter “Member of the Year” award. She also served as an adjunct professor at University of Louisiana at Lafayette – B.I. Moody III College of Business teaching business writing/communications.

Shelly holds a Bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and a Masters of Public Communications from American University-Washington, D.C. During her graduate studies, she worked as an intern on CNN’s long running Crossfire program at the Washington, D.C. bureau. Shelly is a native of Lafayette, LA and resides in Baton Rouge.
