About

Michelle Jordan has called Lake Charles home for over 45 years. She graduated from McNeese State University with bachelor’s degrees in Mass Communication and Theatre Arts. She completed her M.A. in Communication at the University of Arkansas. She taught public speaking and interpersonal communication at Arkansas and McNeese.

Currently working as the Director of Personnel/Resource Development for the Calcasieu Clerk of Court, she is tasked with wearing many hats. These include traditional HR responsibilities such as administrating employee benefits, policy writing, and staff management; but also PR such as press releases, website design/maintenance, and communication with the public regarding election procedures.

Prior to working with the Clerk of Court, Michelle worked for 14 years at a church as a Worship Leader and Program Director, coordinating and encouraging volunteers with a “team approach.” She is an effective interpersonal communicator, but also comfortable at the podium.

Since 1997, she has been a member of the Rotary Club of Lake Charles (chartered 1916), and has served as long-standing executive secretary, all officer positions, and was the first member to serve two terms as Club President.

Michelle is very proud to be a part of a very large extended Louisiana family, most of whom are from Houma (where she was born) and the surrounding communities. Her family are the reason she is very passionate about helping Louisiana become a state where future generations don’t just survive but can thrive and be proud.

Michelle is married to Lake Charles native Brian Jordan, and they have one son who attends LA Tech.
