V.S. Subrahmanian is one of the world’s foremost experts in artificial intelligence. He has developed methods to apply AI models to a variety of real-world scenarios, such as analyzing the behaviors of the terrorist groups Hezbollah and Boko Haram and predicting attacks. Subrahmanian’s forecasting models have helped predict systemic banking crises, the likelihood of violence at protests and the spread of malware in countries.

His work in social network analysis has identified harmful activity on social media and forecasted the spread of misinformation online. In cybersecurity, Subrahmanian developed a deepfake detection system to authenticate audio, images and videos and determine whether digital content is AI manipulated.

Subrahmanian has been an invited speaker at the United Nations, Capitol Hill and numerous other prestigious forums. He has written eight books and published over 300 referred articles. Subrahmanian is an endowed professor of computer science at Northwestern University and the founding director of the Northwestern Security & AI Laboratory.

At PAR’s annual conference, Subrahmanian will discuss the implications of AI in the 21st Century. He’ll dive into the benefits of artificial intelligence, demonstrate how deepfakes manipulate content and give practical guidance on how government agencies should address the security concerns raised by AI.

PAR’s Conference will be on April 10, 2025 from 10am to 1:30pm at the Crowne Plaza in Baton Rouge.
