About

C. Grace Whiting, J.D., is the Chief Executive Officer and Lead Strategist at Whiting Communications, LLC and the co-founder of the How We Care social impact initiative. With more than a decade of national and global health policy experience in Washington, DC, Grace has a rich understanding of the social sector. She is a subject-matter expert in family caregiving, health and long-term care, and disability advocacy. 

Grace has previously served as CEO of the National Alliance for Caregiving, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and the Erdheim-Chester Disease Global Alliance. Through this work, she has partnered with nonprofit organizations such as AARP, the American Cancer Society, Global Genes, the National Health Council, the Cancer Support Community, the American Society on Aging, and the Alzheimer’s Association. NextAvenue recognized Grace as one of twenty national 2020 Influencers in Aging. 

Grace’s work has been featured in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, PBS NewsHour, and in peer-reviewed publications such as Generations, The Journal of Applied Gerontology, and OBM Geriatrics. She has presented at national and international conferences, including the American Society on Aging, the 7th International Carers Conference in Adelaide, Australia, and the National Institutes of Health. She has also given virtual keynotes to global audiences, including the Hong Kong Carers Conferences in 2021 and 2022. Grace earned her undergraduate degree in Communication Studies and Philosophy from the Honors College at Louisiana State University A&M. She earned her juris doctorate from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, where she was awarded the Memphis Bar Association's Irvin Bogatin Social Justice Award in 2010. She lives with her business partner and brilliant husband, Geoff Whiting, and their fiesty cat, Baby, in Baton Rouge, LA.
