About

Michelle Jordan has called Lake Charles home for most of her life. She graduated magna cum laude from McNeese State University with bachelor’s degrees in Mass Communication as well as Theatre Arts. She then completed her M.A. in Communication with magna cum laude distinction at the University of Arkansas.

Currently she serves as the Chief Deputy to the Calcasieu Parish Clerk of Court. The role of Chief Deputy encompasses managing daily operations as well as public relations. Before being named Chief Deputy, she served as Director of Personnel and Resource Development from 2015 to 2025 where her role included traditional HR responsibilities such as administrating employee benefits, policy writing, and staff management.

Prior to joining the Clerk of Court team, Michelle worked for 14 years at a church as a Worship Leader and Program Director. There she coordinated musical and non-musical volunteers to lead weekly worship services, where she served as lead vocalist.

Michelle was the first Coordinator of the "Blue Gold Peer Leaders" at McNeese State University, where she was also an academic advisor and instructor of public speaking and interpersonal communication.

Since 1997, she has been a member of the Rotary Club of Lake Charles (chartered 1916), and has served the club in all capacities including executive secretary, all officer positions, and was the first member to serve two terms as Club President.

Michelle is very proud to be a part of a very large extended Louisiana family, most of whom are from Houma (where she was born) and the surrounding communities. Her family are the reason she is very passionate about helping Louisiana become a state where future generations don’t just survive but can thrive and be proud.

Michelle is married to Lake Charles native Brian Jordan, and they have one son who works as a software engineer.
